Tender for Fourth Bridge Over Canal PostponedMonday, July 24, 2017 The opening of proposals in the tender to design and build the fourth bridge over the Canal will be held on September 5, and four consortiums of the six who initially prequalified will be participating. The consortium made up of the Korean company Hyundai and Spain's Sacyr, one of the six entities prequalified to participate in the tender, has signalled their withdrawal, meaning that there are now four groups competing to build the work, valued at $1200 million. The withdrawal of this consortium comes after that of the CCB group, made up of the Brazilian company Odebrecht, which was asked to withdraw in January of this year.
