Analysis of the impact of the Trans-Pacific Partnership on the region.

The competition which sectors such as textiles could face is one of the elements raising questions among employers in the region, compared to the real benefits that could be accrued if Central America participates in the Strategic Economic Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).

The presence of direct competitors, such as countries like Vietnam, in the textile sector, and the possibility of losing dominance in the American market due to trade rules that TPP countries must meet, is unsettling the productive sectors in the region and forcing a reckoning of the pros and cons of a possible entry to the block to be undertaken.

The company explained that its growth in Honduras could attract large companies seeking to repatriate their production to the American continent, in light of poor working conditions in Bangladesh exposed by the collapse that killed 400 workers.

Cupid Nicaragua, the production company specializing in women's intimate apparel and sportswear in general, has announced the construction of three new industrial buildings.

Cupid Nicaragua, an American company specialized in the manufacture of intimate apparel for women and sports apparel in general has announced that it is currently investing up to $ 24 million in expanding its operations in Nicaragua through the construction of three new industrial buildings. Located in the Parque Industrial Las Palmeras, Carazo, the new facility will have a total area of 30,000 square meters and will employ approximately 2,700 people.

Nicaragua: Textile Exports Grows 14%

The sector exported $552 million in the first seven months of the year, 14% more than same period of 2009.

Businessmen rated the recovery as "moderate", because they haven't reached 2008 levels, when the sector made $554 millions in the first seven months of the year.

This recovery was similar in the rest of Central America: El Salvador reported a 21.1% increase, Honduras 13.8%, and Guatemala 8.8%.
