The Instituto Panameno de Deportes is seeking to tender a master plan for several sports and cultural areas to be built in several stages in the province of Bocas del Toro.

"The tender consists of providing the Panamanian Sports Institute with the construction of a sports city from design to equipment, in Bocas del Toro.
As part of the process of economic reactivation, starting October 12, Panama will be allowed to reopen swimming pools, cinemas, theaters, museums, galleries, hotels, casinos and tourist sites with closed structures, at 50% of their capacity.

In February 2018, the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) reported that it would grant the government of Costa Rica a loan of $31,330,000 to finance the project " Programa Integral de Seguridad y Conservación del Monumento Histórico Teatro Nacional de Costa Rica."
The BCIE will be financing restoration works on the National Theater, which include renovating the electricity system and modernizing the facilities in general.
The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (BCIE) announced that "... financing will allow the development of a program consisting of investments for an active and passive fire protection system, renovation of the electricity system for greater security and modernization of the stage enclosure, mechanization of the stage, sound aspects, lighting aspects and installation of an acoustic shell, in addition to giving independence to the administrative offices and warehouses, excluding them from the main building of the Theater."
In Panama the National Institute of Culture is putting out to tender comprehensive architectural restoration of the National Theatre.

"Supply of all labor, materials, tools, machinery, equipment, transportation, supplies and everything necessary to carry out the execution of Integral Architectural Restoration work on the National Theater of Panama."
The National Institute of Culture in Panama is putting out to tender restoration work inside the Anita Villalaz Theater.
The date for submission of bids is November 22, 2012, and on November 16, 2012, at 10:00 am, the approval meeting will take place in the Anel Omar Rodríguez Hall, INAC Headquarters Building, Plaza de Francia, Las Bóvedas, township of San Felipe, district and province of Panama.
