An analysis by CentralAmericaData's Trade Intelligence Unit provides interesting data on the companies that in 2019 were favored with contracts to design and build government buildings, roads, bridges, streets, overpasses and other public infrastructure works in Central American countries.
China to Announce Projects in El Salvador

The construction of a stadium and the national library, as well as the development of infrastructure in tourist areas, are some of the projects that would be financed by the Asian giant in El Salvador, as part of its non-reimbursable cooperation programs.
As part of the non-refundable assistance, China will support the construction of six projects, including a new National Library, a national stadium and a Surf City project, in order to promote joint development and increase the well-being of both peoples, the Chinese Embassy in El Salvador announced on December 3.

The Guatemalan Ministry of Education tenders the supply of prefabricated modules for schools nationwide.

"The modules must have the characteristics of a temporary structure (100% dismountable and technically verifiable) allowing its complete assembly and disassembly. The components of the module (foundation/fixation bases, platform, vertical enclosures and roof) will form a single monolithic unit, with seismic-resistant characteristics, resistance to humidity and winds, will provide thermal comfort and will meet or exceed the requirements of the school quality standards approved by the Ministry.

In El Salvador, it was announced that between December and February 2019, a tender will be published for the construction of 27 educational centers, which will require a $30 million investment.

In El Salvador, an agreement was signed to begin construction of the municipal wastewater treatment plant in Nejapa, which will require an investment of $5 million.
Fomilenio II informed that the work will oversee the Spanish company INYPSA - Informe y Proyectos, S.A. The supervision of the project will be carried out by the Salvadoran company OS Constructores, S.A. de C.V. for a value of $310,406.

Builders Project Investments for $1.4 billion

The Salvadoran union for the sector foresees that investments in construction between 2018 and 2019 will add up to $1.4 billion, driven mainly by the execution of several public projects.
The Salvadoran Chamber of the Construction Industry (Casalco) reported that with the investment estimated for this and next year, it is expected that about 136 thousand jobs will be created.
