The companies GSI Guatemala, Orcatec, Productive Business Solutions and Intelident submitted proposals ranging from between $3.6 and $4.6 million for the provision of passport booklets.
The Ministry of Government has postponed for the third time the receipt of bids for the passport book and migration services tender.
According to Fernando Lucero, spokesman for the Office of Migration (DGM), the new extension is due a change in the specifications to improve the quality of the booklets and also because there were a number of questions from the bidders.
The Department of Migration has been authorized to acquire the passport books without a bidding process for a value of up to $3 million.

The government has authorized the Ministry of Interior (MINGOB), through the Directorate General of Migration (DGM), under their strict liability, to acquire, without being subject to a tender or quote, 600,000 books for passports.
