Fitch believes that the rate of net claims held by insurers should remain in manageable ranges considering the adequate levels of reinsurance and catastrophic contingency reserves held by most insurers in these countries. Thus, according to Fitch, the ratings assigned to general insurance companies in Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador should not be affected by these events.
