The municipality of Buenos Aires, in Puntarenas, will be allocating $7 million for the purchase of twelve machines and materials to carry out asphalting works in different sections of the canton.

In Costa Rica a contract has been awarded to Consorcio Grupo Orosi for asphalting work in El Guarco, Cartago.

Shell Bitumen, a division of the petroleum giant Shell, has inaugurated the region's first factory for modified asphalt in Puerto Cortés, Honduras, with an investment of 1.5 million dollars.
The material it produces is used in the construction and maintenance of inter-urban highways which carry heavy traffic loads.
Héctor Samayhora, general manager of Shell Bitumen, says the product is more durable and safer than other materials.
