Viajes El Corte Ingles will be selling tourism products in El Salvador in its sales network in Spain and carrying out a promotional campaign from March 15 to October 31.
The agreement aims to increase the number of Spanish tourists visiting the country, which in 2015 was around 20,000. The promotion will be done through the marketing channels of the agency and will be reinforced by a campaign that will run until October 31, 2015.
The company Imcard-Mediafone has been selected to implement and operate the system for number portability in the country, after submitting a bit in the tender for $1.7 million.

Only El Corte Inglés and the consortium Imcard-Mediafone submitted bids for $2.3 million and $1.7 million, respectively, in the competition for awarding number portability in the country.
Although initially more companies had shown interest in the tender, the General Superintendence of Electricity and Telecommunications received only the two aforementioned offers.
Of the 703 products surveyed by the Consumer Ombudsman in El Salvador 75% do not meet the standards set by the law.
This was announced by the chief of the institution, Yanci Urbina, during the first national Codex Alimentarius congress. Some 3,123 products were submitted to analysis, 457 were submitted for safety and 69% breached at least one technical standard or standard under the Consumer Protection Act.
The training will support producers of food and beverages so that they can comply with the Food and Drug Administration's Modernization Act for Food Safety.

This program aims to strengthen companies who produce food and drink so that they are able to comply with the Modernization Act for Safety Food, of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The Salvadoran industry has been relieved of its concerns after being explained the actual scope of the right to redemption set out in the revised Consumer Protection Act.
Reforms to the Consumer Protection Act which went into effect on 28 February, were explained yesterday to Salvadoran industrialists.
"At first, the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI) expressed concern over the reform of Article 3, which gives the consumer the right to withdraw or retract a contract on the terms set out in this Act", noted an article on Elsalvador.com.
