The Canyon Group plans to invest more than $200 million in the construction of its first resort in Central America, which will be on the Papagayo Peninsula in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.
Without specifying the start date of construction of the new resort, which will be part of the brand of hotels "Six Senses", the developers of the project reported that the hotel is expected to be ready in mid 2021.
An apartment building in Guatemala, an educational center in Panama and a tourist complex in Costa Rica, are part of the projects that are planned to be developed in the coming months in the region.

Although Costa Rica has a good image abroad, businessmen in the tourism sector with investment plans face long and complex procedures in public institutions.
Businessmen from the hotel sector believe that the growth rate of the construction of tourist infrastructure would be higher if the procedures in institutions such as the National Environmental Technical Secretariat (Setena), the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity and municipalities were speeded up.
The Canadian group Sunwing Travel has announced that in the second half of this year it will open a luxury hotel under the brand Planet Hollywood.

An environmental impact study has been submitted for construction of a treatment and curative care center in a hot springs area in La Fortuna, Alajuela.
Data from the interactive platform "Construction in Central America" compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData indicates that Ganadera Manoa de la Fortuna S.A. submitted an Environmental Impact Study (EIA) in August to the Setena to develop, in the district of La Fortuna, province of Alajuela, a medical tourism project.
In the past 12 months, 78 environmental impact studies were submitted to develop hotels, marinas, clubs and beach residences in Central American countries.

The first phase of the Golfito Marina Village & Resort project, in Puntarenas, includes 50 berths, a fuel pier and parking for 26 vehicles.
Elfinancierocr.com reports that "...This first phase includes 50 berths: 14 for 40-foot boats, 8 for 40-foot yachts, 25 for yachts measuring 60 to 90 feet, 2 for 140-foot megayachts and 1 berth for a gigayacht."
