In Guatemala, Shell gas stations and Pizza Hut benefit from an informal alliance.
Pizza Hut has installed three small stores in Shell gas stations. The pizza chain benefits from the large number of visitors to the gas stations, where clients order pizza to be deliverer to their homes or to take it with them. On the other side, Shell benefits from an increased number of visitors, plus improving the perception of security of its establishments.
With $1.4 million invested, Pizza Hut opened store number 30 yesterday.
The franchise has been operated for the last for years by Alturisa S.A., a Salvadoran firm representing the Pizza Hut chain of restaurants in Guatemala.
Company executives indicated that this year they will be inaugurating new branches in Santa Elena Peten, Antigua Guatemala, Retalhuleu, Escuintla, Huhuetenango, another one in Quetzaltenango and in the future Eskala Roosevelt Commercial Center.
