Because the company will focus on other markets, starting December 17, it will close the store that was engaged in the marketing of motorcycles and accessories of the American brand Harley-Davidson.
According to information provided by Red Motors, a company that sells motorcycles in the Costa Rican market, the closing of operations is because the brand plans to focus on 50 specific markets, especially in North America, Europe and parts of Asia.
In recent months and given the new commercial reality, interest in motorcycles has been increasing in the digital environment, a rise that can be explained by consumer behavior in all Central American markets.

In the first semester of 2017, Central American countries imported $174 million worth of motorcycles, 12% less than in the same period in 2016.

In 2016 Central American countries imported $420 million worth of motorcycles, and compared to 2015, purchases from China and India increased by 15% and 10%, respectively.

The union of importers of motorcycles has reported that in 2016 sales grew by 19%, lower than the 23% increase achieved in the previous year.
Figures from the Association of Motorcycle Importers (Aima) indicate that last year 67,736 units were sold, 19% more than what was sold in 2015, but lower than the 75,000 units that the union planned for this year.
Between January and September $39 million was spent on the import of motorcycles, 22% more than in the same period in 2015.
In the case ofcars and quad bikes,figures from the Central Bank of Nicaragua show that the value of imports was $101 million between January and September this year, registering an increase of 9% compared to the same period in 2015.
Between January and June 2016 almost 39,000 new motorcycles were registered in the country, which is 9% more than in the same period in 2015.
China is still the market from which the most motorcycles imported into the country arrive.In the first half of the year the number of these vehicles registered in the country rose by an average of 215 per day, outpacing growth in the same period in 2015.
In the last four years motorcycle sales grew by 25%, and at the end of this year the industry expects to register 70,000 new units.
Crhoy.com reports that "... Figures from the Association of Motorcycle Importers and Allied Workers (AIMA) indicate that in 2006 approximately 10,000 motorcycles were registered per year, by the end of 2016 the projection is that 70,000 new units will have been registered."
In the first ten months of 2015 about 52 thousand new motorcycles were imported, 300% more than in the same period in 2010.
Importers and distributors of motorcycles explained that the increase is due, among other factors, to increased demand from market segments that up till now have not traditionally bought these types of vehicles.
