Empresa Prointec S.A., Consorcio PM ITSE and Consorcio Gestión Integral del ITSE presented three identical amounts, of $4.7 million, in the tender for the project management of the Higher Technical Institute of the East, in Panama.
The consortium PM ITSE is made up of Proyectos, Ejecución y Control de Obras S.A. and Sondeo, Estructuras y Geotecnia S.A., and its bid was $4,797,000.The other bidder is Consorcio Gestión Integral del ITSE, which submitted a bid for the same amount, as did Empresa Prointec S.A.
The National Economic Council has approved funds to build the Higher Technical Institute of the East, in addition to the $150 million granted by Banco CAF.
From a statement issued by the Ministry of Economy and Finance:
In order to strengthen education and technical training in the eastern area of the country, (CENA) National Economic Council has approved B / .75 million dollars to finance the Higher Technical Institute of the East (ITSE), which will be located in Tocumen.
Arguing anomalies in the evaluation of tenders, the consortium made up of Meco and Edificadora Centroamericana Rapiparedes has requested a suspension of the tender whose value is around $180 million.
The economic proposal submitted by the consortium that launched the appeal obtained the second best score, behind the consortium with the best score, of 893 points.
For the construction of the Higher Technical Institute of the East (ITSE by its initials in Spanish) the consortium CCA bid $176 million, consortium ITSE bid $181 million, Infrastructure Acciona $189 million, and FCC-ITSE Consortium $190 million.
In the separate assessment of the technical and economic proposals, CCA scored 983 points, followed by ITSE Consortium (971.32), Acciona Infrastructures (946.10) and FCC-ITSE (922.34 points).
In Panama the date for receipt of bids in the tender for the construction of the Higher Technical Institute of the East in Tocumen has been postponed until February 26.
The Ministry of the Presidency has postponed until February 26, 2016, the delivery of economic proposals for the design and construction of the Higher Technical Institute East (ITSE) in the province of Panama.
