The Excel Automotive car dealership opened its new headquarters in the Department of Sonsonate.
The new complex offers integrated services which include sales of new vehicles, maintenance and part sales.
Andres Poma, National Manager of Excel Automotive, told Laprensagrafica.com, "The complex is located one block from the railway monument and has a total area of 2.520 m² of which 548 m² are workshop services.
Vehicle stores are offering new promotions and more attractive financing plans for new car purchases.
Longer term financing with lower monthly installments, deferred down payments and free accessories with the purchase are some of the promotions offered by car companies.
"Grupo Q focused on the deferred down payment concept. This allows the buyer to pay just half the down payment when he purchases the car, and the rest five months later", reported Elsalvador.com.
Since October of 2008, the automotive company has been marketing the Chinese brands of Chery and Wulling in Costa Rica.
The commercial manager of Excel Automotriz, Adolfo Rubí, indicated that the company estimates an increase in the sales of these brands in the coming years.
El Financiero gathers in its web portal more comments from the manager: “...Vehicles of Chinese brands will face processes similar to those faced by Japanese, Korean, and Europeans brands in the past. There wasn’t a lot of knowledge about those brands, but they later obtained significant shares of the market."
The Panamanian car distributor, Excel Automotive, opened its third branch in the country.
According to Laestrella.com.pa, "Excel is the automotive division of Grupo Poma of El Salvador and it acquired the Mitsubishi distributorship in Panama."
The manager of the automotive company, Ricardo Cuellar told the media: "We have decided it is time to begin to grow and we are taking a step toward what will be sustained growth with this third branch."
Auto dealers in El Salvador and Guatemala are facing a slump in sales of new cars this year. In Honduras and Nicaragua sales are flat, and only Costa Rica and Panama report higher sales.
Distributors are engaged in a promotions war to attract buyers and increase sales.
Offers to buyers include zero down payments, interest-free credit for the rest of the year, fuel credits of up to 2,000 dollars, forgiving interest payments up to 1,265 dollars, monthly payments of just 31 dollars a month, and gifts of appliances and television sets.
Excel Automotriz, Central America's leading automobile distributor, has acquired Renault Costa Rica to add to its portfolio of 15 brands in the region.
The deal follows nearly a year of talks between El Salvador-based Excel and Renault Costa Rica's previous owners, Grupo Financiera Automotriz S.A. (FASA).
Brands currently distributed by Excel include Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi, BMW and Volkswagen.
