From May 17 to 20 2016 the Latin America and Caribbean World Forum on Resources 2016, International Conference on Sustainable Construction and III Green Expo will be held in San Jose, Costa Rica.
The GBC-CR, the World Resources Forum (WRF) and the United Nations Program for Environment (UNEP) will join their expertise and enthusiasm in order to develop a single global event for the Latin American region.
Construction has been announced of Plaza Centroamérica, a 14 thousand square meters building on eight floors which will house shops, restaurants and offices.
The Nicaraguan company Edificios Comerciales S.A. (Edicosa) announced that Plaza Centroamérica will have an area of 14 thousand square meters and required an investment of $10.5 million. The building should be completed by the end of 2016 and will be located on the northwest side of the Centroamérica roundabout.
The International Conference on Sustainability of Concrete Latin America will be held from 17 to 19 February 2016 in San Jose, Costa Rica.

The National Ready Mixed Concrete Association (NRMCA) and the Iberoamerican Federation of Ready Mixed Concrete (FIHP) in accordance with other sponsors will be holding the International Conference on Sustainability of Concrete, Latin America, from 17 to 19 February 2016 in San Jose, Costa Rica.
From May 13th to May 15th architectural firms and construction companies will be meeting in San Jose to discuss issues related to good environmental practices, opportunities in the city and housing developments.

The company has said it will invest $30 million in the construction of an environmentally friendly banking building.
"The complex and corporate park is the first building in Guatemala for a financial institution which is registered for LEED certification (acronym for Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design)", which supports the reduction of environmental impact by reducing energy consumption , water and carbon dioxide emissions, said the CEO of Citi Guatemala, Bernardo Chacin.
The Guatemalan Chamber of Construction is to participate in the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, to be held from 13 to 16 November.
A statement from the Chamber indicates that, "it is the largest event dedicated to Green Building, where more than 30,000 professionals take part in a 4 day conference with international experts, educational sessions (LEED credits), tours of buildings / green sites, etc." .
With the name ‘Requirements for Sustainable Buildings in the Tropics in Costa Rica’ a guide the construction of environmentally friendly buildings has been presented.
Named ‘Requisitos para Edificios Sostenibles en El Trópico ‘ in Spanish, or RESET, the certification is the first of its kind to be created in the country, and was presented on Wednesday during a conference on green architecture and sustainable buildings.
Although in its infancy, the concept is present in many new projects, and is gaining momentum as older buildings which want to remain competitive in the market are being upgraded.
The construction of buildings with sustainable and environmentally friendly features has a long way to go in Panama, although the development of this type of construction has made progress in the last 10 years and the capital now has several buildings that have been constructed with improved regulations.
Certification of Costa Rican buildings as "green" will be made by showing compliance with the specifications of RESET, a document in the final review stages at the Institute of Technical Standards (Inteco).
RESET, or "Requirements for sustainable buildings in the tropics" is a set of rules created by a group of architects to establish local standards that define what constitues “green” in terms of design and construction projects.
