The new authorities at the Inguat have stated that the figures given so far on tourist flows and their economic impact are unrealistic, and propose changing the methods for measuring them.
To change the current methodology, the new director of the Guatemalan Tourism Institute has created a joint working group with private companies and representatives of the Bank of Guatemala and the Association for Research and Social Studies.
