From May 9 to 10 in Costa Rica Expotur 2019 will be held at the National Convention Center, which will bring together 230 international buyers from the tourism sector from 35 countries.

The activity consists of two days of negotiations and alliances that allow revitalize the tourist offer each year and generate millions of dollars in tourist currency for accommodations, food and transportation."
Germany recommends German tourists to be cautious when travelling to the Central American country, mainly because of the general strike that has caused road blocks.
The German Information Center for Latin America informed its travelers that because a nationwide general strike continues in Costa Rica, there are restrictions on the public sector and road blocks in and around the capital, San Jose. There are also considerable delays in access to the San José International Airport. Meanwhile, security forces are acting against road blocks and violent conflicts cannot be ignored.
At the tourism fair to be held on May 11 and 12 it is expected that 5000 business meetings will take place between local businessmen and 290 representatives of 200 wholesalers from 34 countries.
The 32nd Expotur, Costa Rica's main tourism exchange forum, will be held from May 11 to 12 this year at the Centro Kölbi Viva Park in La Guacima, Alajuela.
From October 19 to 21 2016 professionals from the tourism sector in Costa Rica and other countries will be gathering together in San Jose.

On May 7th and 8th tourism businesses from Costa Rica and the region will be gathering together in San Jose along with wholesalers from other countries to promote their offerings and explore business opportunities.
The government has announced the opening of a consulate in Shanghai and other efforts to open others in cities where there is high purchasing power in an effort to attract people to the Costa Rican tourism sector.

Seven out of ten entrepreneurs who participated in the International Tourism Fair in Costa Rica struck deals at the Expotur fair with international buyers.
Around 2500 business meetings were held at the event, which was attended by 200 tourism companies from 37 countries from Latin America, the United States, Europe and Africa.
63% of wholesalers who were participants at the tourism fair held in Costa Rica were there for the first time, and 79% received at least 5 contracts during the event.

Tourist companies believe that sustainability is not an easy process, however it can be a good idea if it is about doing business.
Katiana Murillo in her article in Baños, reviews the opinion of some companies who participated in Expotur 2013, regarding the question of whether sustainability can be good business for tourism entrepreneurs.
Some 220 international companies from 37 countries and 300 national entrepreneurs will present their tourist packages.
"The work done in recent years has resulted in approximately 100,000 tourists annually, which allows us to indicate that EXPOTUR has brought more that $ 600 million to Costa Rica, and contributed to job creation between 120,000 to 150 thousand positions," said Yadyra Simon, president of Acoprot to Nacion.com .
The event this year aims to promote Costa Rica as a tourism destination and center for convention events.
Organizers of the 30th edition of the largest tourism fair in Costa Rica and the isthmus have ensured the participation of 220 companies at the event, which will be held from 9th to 11th May in San Jose.
The organizer’s main objective is to project the image of Costa Rica as a tourism destination for events, conferences and conventions, reported Nacion.com.
In Costa Rica the current methods for keeping records about the number of tourist arrivals are inefficient, with differences in numbers of up to half a million.
Professionals in the tourism sector believe it is essential to incorporate new tools in order to generate more reliable data regarding the entry of tourists into the country.
