The Executive Directorate of Revenue in Honduras is putting out to tender a supply of equipment for a customs laboratory in the Customs Office of Puerto Cortés.
From a statement issued by the Executive Revenue Department:
The Government of the Republic of Honduras has received a loan from the IDB to partially finance the cost of the Project for the Modernization of Customs Offices at Puerto Cortés, 2467 IDB loan BL-HO and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract "Acquisition of Equipment for Customs Laboratory at the Customs Office of Puerto Cortés".
A single processing desk will be opened for foreign trade in order to speed up control formalities for land carriers.

The Executive Directorate of Revenue (DEI), with the support of the Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic of Honduras and the technical support of International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank (WB), will start running a Single Foreign Trade Desk (known as VUCEH by its initials in Spanish), to streamline controls for land carriers, reducing costs and contributing to trade facilitation.
The Customs Economic Operator project seeks to facilitate a safe way for customs clearance for imports and exports.

The advances in the Customs Economic Operator project (OAE by its initials in Spanish) to safely facilitate clearance of goods at regional and global level by Honduran private companies, were presented by the Executive Directorate of Revenue (DEI), in a workshop entitled "Developing a competitive advantage in today's market through public-private dialogue. "
Honduran tax authorities are discussing the implementation of number plates with integrated electronic readable chips.
The purpose is to combat late payment of road tax for Honduran vehicles, which is $13 million, out of a total of $65 million that should be raised.

The article in laprensahn.com also reported that motorcycle registration has decreased, and there has been a noticeable decline in car sales: "In previous months, we were selling an average of 18 to 20 units, but only three so far this month," reported the manager of a car selling company.
The Government of Honduras reported the earnings for the last fiscal period for large companies from various sectors.
Financial intermediaries earned $6.6 million on average, while transport, storage and communication companies earned $5.45 million, and mining and quarry companies earned $17 million.

The Executive Revenue Office (DEI) has launched an internet service called "DEI online."
DEI online is specifically designed to help tax payers fulfill their tax obligations (declarations, payments, etc) while taking full advantage of technological advancements.
