Using information without defined objectives and not integrating it across the entire company are part of the mistakes that organizations can make when analyzing large volumes of data.
Although there are still many companies that have not begun to analyze the information they accumulate in their operation, there is a risk that the efforts they make in the future will not achieve the expected results if the mistakes that some organizations tend to make in the process are not avoided.
It is no longer necessary to travel to engage in face to face communication within companies or with customers.
To achieve this, there are various technological solutions which allow the implementation of modern workspaces letting users work efficiently, virtually and from anywhere, says Rowan Trollope, manager of the Collaboration Technologies Group at Cisco.
In Costa Rica there are currently more than 400 people employed in this sector, with a reported unmet demand for another 3000.
The study "Skills in networking and connectivity in Latin America", conducted by IDC for the company Cisco, reveals that there is currently a 43% gap between demand and actual supply of these professionals, which by 2015 could rise to 47 %.
The National Training Institute (INA in Spanish) in Costa Rica will build a new headquarters in Heredia providing IT training programs as well as subjects such as food, environmental management, and languages.
The establishment will be 4900 square meters, and its opening is planned for September 2011.
According to an article by Andrea Rodriguez in Elfinancierocr.com, "The site will be used to teach everything about the configuration of network services, networking and internet protocols,, Cisco network systems, and training in IP telephony including wireless networking, and IP cameras .
In a study by Cisco, 60% of professionals thought that they did not need to be in office to be productive.
Additionally, mobility and working flexibility is becoming increasingly attractive when choosing a job: 2 out of 3 people indicated they would prefer a position with lower pay and greater flexibility than higher-paying and less flexibility.
"Human resources are becoming increasingly mobile, requiring to work outside the office, increasing the risk of information security. To prevent that, there is a need for improved corporate policies, training and stronger relationships between employees and IT departments, "says the study.
