President Maurcio Funes has announced an investment by a public-private partnership program within the US-led Bridge initiative.
In his speech to the legislature as part of the commemoration of his two years in office, the President stated, "... I would like to inform you that we are about to finish formulating the first project to be developed using the public private partnership scheme under the Bridge framework led by the United States government. I refer to the modernization and expansion of the International Airport of El Salvador, whose investment will be about 105 million dollars", as reported in a press release from the portal of the President of the Republic of El Salvador.
