After a resolution was issued for the reorganization of the 700 MHz band, Telecomunicaciones de Guatemala S.A. and the Human Rights Ombudsman's Office submitted appeals for revocation to the Superintendence of Telecommunications.
The controversy originated after Comunicaciones Celulares S.A. bought from Albavision in 2019 the usufruct titles that are immersed in the 700Mhz band. This transaction was made in the secondary market.
On November 14, the Superintendence of Telecommunications of Guatemala will auction a short number, which is used by commercial entities to provide advertising services, information, assistance and services.
So far, 56 four-digit telephone numbers have been auctioned in the country and the next one to be made available to companies will be 1710, which may be used as a routing mask to an eight-digit number.

The Alliance for Coffee Excellence (ACE) and the National Coffee Association (Anacafe) are calling on coffee growers to take part in the Cup of Excellence 2016, the preselection for which starts on April 10, reported Dca. gob.gt.
From April 10th to 16th lots will be preselected, from 16th to 20th May the national competition will be held, and on 30th June the Cup of Excellence 2016 auction will take place.

The Cup of Excellence Auction is a tool that producers can use in order to have their coffee promoted within a select group of buyers, who are members of the program.
In the Cup of Excellence auction the average price paid for the 24 lots of specialty coffee on offer was $9.17, while the maximum price was $25.80 per pound.
As in the 2014 auction, first place was obtained by the farm El Injerto, from the department of Huehuetenango. For the lot from this farm an international buyer paid $35.80 a pound.

The Superintendency of Telecommunications has converted two frequencies reserved for the State into regulated frequencies that can be used only if use rights are acquired, which will be auctioned.
Through a resolution adopted by the Ministry of Communications,the Superintendency of Telecommunications (SIT) was given the responsibility of changing the attribution of frequencies reserved for the State into regulated frequencies, through the purchase of use rights, which is not something that is included in the Telecommunications Act. For some lawmakers this represents an illegal act because the law can only be changed with the approval of the Congress of Guatemala.
Forty-nine samples qualified for the national competition, which will be used to select entrants in the international auction, the Cup of Excellence, to be held from 4 to 8 May.
Of the 117 samples that were received in the preselection stage, 49 were classified with a minimum score of 85 points. It is expected that the international auction of the winning samples will be carried out on July 1 over the Internet from Anacafé's facilities.

In terms of 10, 12 and 15 years and rates of 7.12%, 7.37% and 7.57% respectively, the government has issued treasury bonds for Q1,958.1 million, equivalent to $256 million.
