The Blue Power & Energy Trading Co. is negotiating funding with the IIC for construction of the La Fe-San Martín wind farm.
The proposed wind farm investment involves 22 wind turbines of 1.8 MW capacity each, Vestas V90 type, resulting in a total generating capacity of 39.6 MW per year. The project will be located in southwest Nicaragua, near the town of Rivas.
President Porfirio Lobo authorized commencement of work at the 'Cerro de Hula Wind Project', which will generate 102 megawatts.
The works will last for a year and are conducted by the Consortium Iberdrola / Gamesa, subsidiary of Ibedrola-Spain.
"The park will consist of 51 Gamesa G87 wind turbines, of two megawatts each, mounted on 80 meter towers with three 40 meter blades." reported Latribuna.hn.
With a $ 250 million investment the wind farm equipped with 51 auto generators will produce 100MW.
The Project is a consortium made up by Gamesa and Iberdrola Engineering and Construction.
"The sustainability of this project comes from the energy purchase contract (PPA), which is for a period of twenty years with the National Electricity Company (ENEE)." Reports Elheraldo.hn.
The BCIE and the EX-IM Bank signed a loan in favor of Energía Eólica de Honduras.
The resources will be invested in the Cerro de Hula Wind Project, which will generate 102 MW and is located in the Department of Francisco Morazan, Honduras.
The project developer will be EEHSA, a subsidiary of Mesoamerica, SA (ERM). AEI Centrans Energy Services, Inc. and Wind Energy of Nicaragua SA, announced funding for Phase II of the Amayo park.

Infima Renovables Company signed up the contract for the construction of a 40 MW wind farm at Rivas, Nicaragua.
Infima Renovables, a company that has decided to expand its operations to Latin America, has just signed an agreement of outsourcing with Lacayo Fiallos Construction Company to design the project, conduct studies, supervise the construction and purchase the equipments for this Nicaraguan wind farm, dubbed "La Fé-San Martin".
Building work has begun for the first wind farm in the country's "Central Valley" near Santa Ana, west of the capital, San Jose.
The wind farm is expected to become operational in August 2012, according to the national power supplier (CNFL in Spanish), a subsidiary of ICE, the state-owned electricity and telecommunications provider.

Panamanian Authority has renewed two wind farm permits for Spanish-Panamanian Group ITP: Boquete for 100 MW and Veraguas I for 52 MW
Panamanian Authority has renewed two wind farm permits belonging to the ITP Group, that of Boquete for 100 MW and that of Veraguas I for 52 MW. The later is also undergoing an extension to 92 MW.
In order to proceed with the first of two extensions of the Veraguas I project and one of the Boquete project, the Spanish-Panamanian Group has decided to reorganize its project portfolio and cancel its Veraguas II and Veraguas III wind projects.

Studies are underway to build a wind power farm in “Lídice de Capira”.
The project is being developed by the Energy and Environment Partnership with the Americas (EEP), and is almost 100% approved by the National Environment Authority (ANAM).
“The idea is to generate electric energy for the nearby communities”, explained César Castillo, from ANAM.
