The project for expansion of sewerage systems in the Greater Metropolitan Area of San José projects works worth $200 million to be tendered in 2014 and 2015.
A third of the funds available for the Project for Environmental Improvement of the Metropolitan Area of San José (PMAASJ) has been invested in various works. According to the reports from Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AyA), of the $344.01 million making up the total project $100.2 million has been used.
Towards the end of the month Heredia's Public Services Corporation (ESPH) will invite bids for a sewage infrastructure project.
The project, which is to be carried out north of the Costa Rican capital in the province of Heredia, comprises the building of a sewage treatment plant as well as the design and construction of a sewer network.
"The bid documents are currently being reviewed by ESPH's board of directors.
On June, the Public Services Corporation of Heredia (ESPH) will invite bids for developing the first stage of a project intended to renew its water treatment system.
It comprises building a treatment plant and designing and building the sewers network for a total $200 million over 10 years.
A spokesperson from ESPH, which provides water and sewer services in the province of Heredia, told Bnamericas.com that “$30 million will be invested in the plant, which will be built in two stages, to gradually attend the growing population’s needs”.
