From 5 to 7 December 2012 the 18th interactive edition of the fair will take place in Panama in which tour operators from Central American and the Caribbean meet with buyers from Europe and the U.S.
MITM is a two-day interactive exhibition of, which is now 15 years old, providing market-oriented incentives, meetings and events, where tourism companies and travel agencies from the Americas and the Caribbean meet, in the form of pre-arranged individual appointments, with buyers from Europe and the U.S. to organize and set up incentives trips, meetings, conferences, congresses and events. Buyers are invited to participate in MITM after a rigorous selection process.
Attracted by the country's economic growth from the Canal, the Spanish group will start by setting up a travel agency in the Trump Ocean Tower.
In the short term, the Spanish retail giant will open a travel agency in the luxurious Trump Ocean Tower in the capital. In the long term, it could build a shopping center.
"Panama is a really interesting market because it has an air hub", said Antonio González Hierro, director of the company in Panama to Panamaamerica.com.pa, also stressing the local tourism potential. "Panama has beaches, parks, shopping facilities, which you have to know how to take advantage of and promote them worldwide."
New immigration regulations state which foreigners require visas to enter the country and the length of their stay.
The Department of Immigration of Costa Rica issued on Jan. 14, Regulation DG-3312-2010, which details visitors of which countries require an entry visa and the duration of those visas, according to the nationality of the traveler.
Besides exceptions provided in the general guidelines, foreign nationals require a visa to enter Costa Rica, which is given by the staff of the Department of Immigration at the time of entering the country. In some cases, depending on the nationality of the person, it is also necessary clearance from the Department of Immigration requesting it before Costa Rican immigration officials abroad.
The corporate travel multinational company will open its first Central American call center in January.
