With the strategic development of the Guatemala Country Brand, there are expectations in the business sector to jointly promote investments, exports and tourism.
Before the end of the year a government agreement could be ready which would unify the various departments for promoting investment as well as the creation of the Guatemala Trade and Investment entity.
Prensalibre.com reports that "...Rubén Morales, economy minister, said the goal is to manage this body through an executive committee made up of representatives from the public and private sectors, and which would be chaired by the Minister of Economy."
The aim of the Guatemalan government is to increase investments made by Colombian companies in sectors such as energy, food, plastics and textile businesses.

The government has announced the signing of an agreement to set up an office to promote trade and investment on the Asian island.

"In order to have an active and permanent business presence in Hong Kong, the Minister of Economy, Sergio de la Torre, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chairman of the South-South Steering Committee for Sustainable Development SS-SCSD, Cai E'Sheng, through which the Guatemalan Office for Trade and Investment will be created in Hong Kong.

The Agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments has been ratified, which promotes financial and trade relations and cooperation between the two countries.

On August 14 the National Assembly unanimously approved the Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua and the Government of the Russian Federation. This agreement seeks to promote financial and trade relations, and cooperation between the two countries.
President Chinchilla has begun her tour of the Republic of Korea, in order to promote trade and investment and strengthen economic cooperation between the two countries.

Costa Rica seeks more trade, investment and cooperation for competitiveness in Korea
Korea, August 20, 2012. On Monday the President of the Republic, Laura Chinchilla and the accompanying delegation began their tour of the Republic of Korea, in order to promote increased trade and investment flows and to strengthen economic cooperation, particularly in the areas of competitiveness.
Two companies will install production plants, one for solar panels and one for cardboard boxes.
The trade agreement signed in 2008 has boosted Taiwanese investments in Nicaragua and created closer diplomatic and commercial ties between both nations.
So far, Taiwan has invested more than $135 million in the Central American country, particularly in the free zones.
Tourism officials in Taiwan conducted a seminar to promote tourism and investment.
Nicaraguan Minister of Tourism, Mario Danilo, said the seminar and visit to the country aims to raise awareness of Nicaragua, attract investment and increase tourism.
"The event, attended by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Taiwan and other senior officials of the island, introduced the so-called "Un Producto por Pueblo" project, which aims to develop in each town a unique food or craft of high quality and presentation for international standards and high added value", Laprensa.com.ni reports.
The couuntry and its products will be promoted abroad through an agency called 'Guatemala Trade and Invest' (GTI).
The new agency replaces the "Invest in Guatemala" office.
Erick Coyoy, minister for the economy, told Jessi Gramajo writing for Sigloxxi that, "the new agency will not only seek to attract investment, it will also aim to encourage trade".
