From May 24-25, 160 wholesalers from Europe, North America and South America will meet at the ATLAPA Convention Center, with tourism companies from the region to explore business opportunities.

A new 106-room hotel complex was inaugurated in the department of Retalhuleu, with the capacity to accommodate 440 guests.
The new resort, called "Hostal Aldea de la Selva" was built by the Institute for Recreation of Workers of Private Enterprise of Guatemala (IRTRA) on a 50,000 square meter property.
To encourage the arrival of more tourists, the Inguat will be investing the funds in a new advertising campaign, which will target the markets of North America, South America and Europe.
With the aim of reactivating the flow of tourists into the country, which suffered a slowdown after the disasters caused by the eruption of the Volcán de Fuego, the Guatemalan Tourism Institute (Inguat) will be implementing a campaign that will have a reach of 120 million people in the markets of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
From May 26 to 27, 170 wholesalers from Europe, and North and South America will be meeting with Central American tourism companies to explore business opportunities.

The Tourism Authority of Panama (ATP), the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) and the Chamber of Tourism of Panama (CAMTUR) announced this Thursday that as part of the celebration of Expocomer, the Eighth Edition of International Tourism Expo-2017 will be held from May 26 to 27.
In a first stage, the aerodrome will receive domestic flights in order to revive tourism in the area.
Later the airfield will be adapted to receive international flights, as part of the plan drawn up by the Guatemágica Tourist Circuit Council, which aims to increase tourist arrivals to Retalhuleu and surrounding areas.
Ricardo Alejos, Council representative told Prensalibre.com that"...'What is sought is to promote tourism in Retalhuleu and the region, as we have attractive locations such as Institute of Recreation Parks for the Workers of Private Enterprise (Irtra), Dino Park, Toy Museum, Takalij Abaj, Champerico Beach and Organic Farms for tourism '. "
Participating for the first time are Nicaragua and the United Arab Emirates as exhibitors, and buyers will be coming from Germany, Argentina, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Italy, Colombia and Sweden, and other places.

International Tourism Expo, in its seventh version, will feature more than 150 exhibition booths, which will be displaying to national and international companies, working in different areas of tourism, in 3,000 m2 of the Atlapa Convention Center in the exhibition which will be held on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 May.
Even without having resolved their border dispute, both countries are working on joint projects including the facilitation of tourist traffic in both territories.
In order to improve relations between the two countries, it is expected that next December a roadmap will be ratified which contains at least 15 bilateral agreements on energy, tourism, education, cultural affairs, environmental, security, temporary workers, cooperation in justice, migration, etc.

(Panama, June 17, 2014). Over 150 wholesale operators from America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean who have great interest in tourism in Panama, will meet in the fifth edition of the INTERNATIONAL TOURISM EXPO, to be held on 26 and 27 September.
What is needed is simple and effective governments that put an end to the bureaucracy that limits the integration of tourism in the region.
