Using IDB financing, a water and sanitation system, public lighting and road improvement will be built in the municipalities of the Central District and San Pedro Sula.
Part of the resources will also be devoted to improving the system of training, professionalization and integrity of the police force, as well as strengthening of technical-scientific capacity in criminal investigations.
With resources from Fomilenio II, a residential and industrial wastewater treatment system will be built in August of this year in the municipality of Nejapa.

The Ministry of Health in Panama is putting out to tender the design and construction of a sewerage network in the town of Burunga, province of Panamá Oeste.

Spain's Aqualia will provide the state water and sewerage company of Panama with advice and technical assistance in the metropolitan area of Panama, the west of the capital and Arraiján.

Aqualia will be the company to advise the IDAAN of Panama (national public entity responsible for water supply and purification) during the next five years, after having prevailed in the public tender organized by the Panamanian entity and with which the public company seeks to gain in efficiency.
The international loans approved by the Assembly will be used for the construction of a hospital, water and sanitation works and for the electrification and renewable energy program.

January 31, 2018.- $199.2 million is the total of the four loan agreements that the Government of Nicaragua signed with international financial sources aimed at the health, education, potable water and sanitation and energy sectors, whose decrees were approved on January 30 by the National Assembly.
With a loan from the IDB, the improvement program for a potable water and sewerage connection system will be carried out in the municipalities of Managua.

The Development Bank of Latin America has confirmed another loan to finance the design and construction of the wastewater system in Arraiján and La Chorrera, in West Panama.
The funds will be executed by the Ministry of Health (MINSA) through the Coordination Unit of the Panama Sanitation Program (UCP).This is the seventh approval of a credit operation of the CAF to support the execution of the Panama Sanitation Program, which with this new disbursement reaches a total financing amount of USD 628 million.The resources of this operation will be used for the design and construction of networks and sewage collectors, as well as domiciliary and intra-domiciliary connections that allow houses to be incorporated into the sanitation system.

The National Economic Council (CENA), issued a favorable ruling for the Ministry of Economy and Finance to sign a loan for 50 million balboas with the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation, for the implementation of a second phase of the sanitation program for Arraiján and La Chorrera in Western Panama.
In Panama, the consortium led by FCC Aqualia has obtained a contract to build and operate a wastewater treatment plant in Arraiján Este, the trunk system and its interconnections.
The proposals put forward by the consortiums taking part in this tender were Consorcio Abba Arraiján, Consorcio Degremont Suez Burunga y Consorcio PTAR Arraiján 2016.The proponent in the process of receiving the award is the consortium PTAR Arraiján 2016, which presented the lowest bid for $120,450,584.69.
