The Special Economic Area Agency in Panama Pacific is putting out to tender custodial and security services for buildings located in Panama West.

Security of goods in the logistics chain is the main theme of the congress to be held on September 22 in Costa Rica.

Despite the rising fiscal deficit, the Legislature has approved a new debt issue of $152 million to finance the construction of prisons and strengthen the fight against crime.

After continuous meetings and bilateral approaches, the Legislature unanimously authorized the Executive Body to issue Credit Securities, worth up to $152 million, which will be used to meet the full funding that is required for the timely implementation of extraordinary measures for public safety, -the same execution which began just over a month ago and whose results are palpable in terms of reducing homicide and extortion -, and other activities related thereto.
The loan proceeds signed with the CABEI will go towards the construction of police stations, purchase of safety equipment and vehicles and improving the capacity of criminal investigation.

San Salvador May 24, 2016.- The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Government of El Salvador today signed a loan amounting to US $100 million that will facilitate priority investments in infrastructure, basic and specialized police equipment which will increase the coverage of public safety services, reducing crime rates and violence by improving operational capacity and responsiveness.
The government has announced it will buy an aircraft and maritime interdiction boats, and will contract maintenance for aircraft in the National Air Service.
The Cabinet has endorsed the purchase of a DHC-6 Twin Otter 400 aircraft as well as maritime interdiction vessels DAMEN 1102 and three contracts for maintenance of aircraft order to strengthen the capacity of the National Air Service (Senan).
The Executive Directorate of Revenue in Honduras is putting out to tender the implementation in Tegucigalpa of a control and monitoring center.

The Institute of Aqueducts and Sewage in Panama wishes to hire private security services for its facilities.
Panama Government Purchase 2016-2-66-0-99-LV-010587:
"The main task is to prevent the entry of unauthorized personnel and in general anyone suspected of violating the properties and facilities of the IDAAN.
The Security Service must secure access points to the offices in question, making rounds as described, attend instructions of the Head of the area of the IDAAN except for where the Security Agency has indicated, including weekends and holidays according to instructions from the Head of the IDAAN. Secure access points and take a daily log of visitors arriving at those offices. "
The private sector is protesting against the fact that companies are making losses because of lack of clarity in dissemination of government information and in the management of collection of the new security tax.
From a statement issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of El Salvador:
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry in El Salvador is calling on the government to clarify for consumers and businesses that sell services and which incur the tax called Special Contribution for Security and Citizen Coexistence how to implement this tax, since there is a lack of clarity about it which is generating losses in companies and discontent among buyers.
Protection of facilities and port operations is essential in order to maintain their status as a safe port, a status that had been at risk for the Caribbean ports of Costa Rica.
An article on Crhoy reports that "... The Costa Rican Union of Chambers and Associations of Private Business Sector (Uccaep) and the Costa Rican Chamber of Importers applauded the security measures taken so that the country can maintain the status of 'safe' ports. "
After declaring the first tender void, a new purchase process has been announced for a pilot plan to use electronic bracelets for prisoners.
The process was declared void because the financial offer from the only company that participated in the tender exceeded the amount of $1.5 million which had been budgeted by the Ministry of Justice and Peace for this purchase.
