In Costa Rica, the National Road Safety Council has signed a confidentiality agreement with the UNOPS to keep information on two publicly funded road construction projects a secret.
Companies that carry out construction work for the government will have to set up CCTVs in order to monitor projects in real time.
The rule applies from this year for all projects worth more than $116,000, and contractors must publish the IP address on the public procurement website, Guatecompras.

A contract has been awarded in Panama to Ingeniería Rec, SA for studies, design and construction of a building project with infrastructure called "Urbanization San Antonio" in the province of Veraguas.
In the tender for the supply of materials, labor, equipment and administration for studies, design and project construction of buildings and infrastructure for the "Urbanización de San Antonio" project located in the village of San Antonio, district of Atalaya, province of Veraguas, the company INGENIERIA REC, S.A. submitted a bid of $65.8 million, which competed with proposals from CONSTRUCTORA MECO, S.A., CONSTRUCCIONES CIVILES GENERALES S.A., ASINCRO PANAMA CORPORATION and that of Constructora San José (Panama Branch) S.A., who bid $66.9 million, $62.3 million, $58.1 million, and $56.2 million respectively.
An $25 million investment has been announced in four roads in the country including 10 additional kilometers to the Tecpan-Chimaltenango-El Tejar route.
The Government of Guatemala will be investing Q200 million ($25.8 million) in four road projects, said Aldo Garcia Morales, Minister of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV), in remarks published by Agn.com.gt.
A 25 kilometer section of road is part of infrastructure projects announced by the head of Public Works for the six districts in the province of Cocle.

The consortia Centralvías Bocas del Toro, Ininco, TRANSCARIBE Trading, and Asociación Accidental C&T Construye are the construction firms who submitted bids to design and build the Almirante highway.

The Public Works Ministry held a tender for best value entitled " Design and Construction of the Almirante – Changuinola highway, (former train route) and the roads: Valle Risco - Punta Peña de Risco, Valle Risco - Oriente Riscó - Nance Risco, with a length of approximately 35.6 kilometers, in the Bocas del Toro province.
Preparations are being made for a tender to be launched in April for the design and construction of production roads from El Pepino - Ciricito - Los Cedros del Lago - El Congo, in the province of Colon.

The roadworks in the village of Kankintú include bridges, coatings, culverts, earthworks, drainage, ditches and signaling.

Under the historic Cabinet Council held in the village of Kankintú, in Ngäbe Bugle, President Juan Carlos Varela announced the construction of the Cañazas-Kankintú Road (Section 1: Cañazas-Coclecito), a work comprising of approximately 36 kilometers.
The project valued at $97 million includes a competition for the design and construction plans, demolition, earthworks, main building, and restoration of other buildings.
