Both companies announced an agreement for La Estancia, Guatemalan and Ecuadorian capital, to acquire a stake in the Panamanian company Toledano.
La Estancia, a company that will have a stake in Toledano, is a consortium born from the merger of Procesadora Nacional de Alimentos C.A. (Pronaca), headquartered in Quito, Ecuador, and Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), in Guatemala City.
In the country during 2018, foreign sales of fertile eggs, whose main destination is Central America, reached $6.9 million, 32% more than what was reported in 2017.

An increase of 4.4% has been reported in the consumption of poultry meat compared to the same period in 2014, driven by lower prices compared to other alternatives such as beef.
Figures from the National Poultry Association indicate a 4.41% increase in chicken consumption in the first half of 2015, reaching a total of 167 million pounds consumed in the period in question.
