With an investment of $35 million, the company plans to build its "Citi Campus" at Corporate Centre El Cafetal, in the west of the capital.
The institution is aiming to physically consolidate its corporate banking and consumer banking operations in the country, along with hiring 800 additional workers over the next two years.
"It is a very good moment for our corporate and consumer banking business, and we are very focused on how best to serve our customers," said Marcelo Gorrini, general manager of Citi in Costa Rica.
'Banco General Costa Rica', 100% subsidiary of Panamanian Banco General S.A., inaugurated a new branch in the country.
The bank entered Costa Rica's market in May 2009. This new branch is located in Curridabat, in the capital city of San Jose.

Proamérica Bank plans to open three new branches next year.
Ramiro Ortiz, bank spokesperson, didn't give details on investment amounts, but informed that 30 jobs would be created in each one of the three new branches.
"This was communicated during the launch of Banco Proamérica's new image. Despite the change in looks, the name will be maintained", reported Georgina Vanegas, for El Mundo's website.
The company Master Money Transfer (MMT), which has 400 stores in Spain, started operations in the country.
From its Panama offices, the company plans to expand to Costa Rica, Colombia and Ecuador.
Iván Gallego, MMT president, told newspaper La Estrella: "... our goal is to grow to 15 stores in the country, and operating in Costa Rica in a year or year and a half, and after that, Ecuador and Colombia".
