In the first nine months of 2020, Central American imports of iron and steel sheets totaled $521 million, and purchases from Korean companies increased by 108% over what was reported in the same period of 2019.

During the last year, imports of iron and steel sheets in the countries of the region totaled $941 million, 13% more than in 2017, a rise explained by purchases made from companies in China.

From January to September 2018, countries in the region exported $74 million in metalliferous minerals, and sales to Mexico tripled over the same period in 2017.
