May 17, 2018.On October 15 and 16, Costa Rica will be the meeting point for high-level exhibitors in the life sciences industry, decision makers of the world's leading companies in the sector, key suppliers, consulting firms, among others, in the fourth edition of the Life Sciences Forum Costa Rica 2018, organized by the Costa Rican Coalition of Development Initiatives (CINDE).
In Costa Rica, at least five medical centers are preparing to expand their current sites and construct new buildings in different areas of the Greater Metropolitan Area.
A greater supply of insurance for medical expenses, and growth in population density in areas far from the center of the capital are some of the factors that explain the greater demand for private medical services in the country.Added to this is the greater culture of preventative health care that exists in the country, and the poor attention that is provided at the public level.
Through a trust with the Bank of Costa Rica, plans are underway to build 30 health areas, 22 financial branches and a storage center for supplies and medicines.
Among the projects that will be built with the resources to be administered by the Bank of Costa Rica through the trust is the William Allen hospital in Turrialba, whosetenderwas announced recently.
From October 9 to 10 representatives of medical device manufacturers will be taking part in an international forum in San Jose.

An IADB loan will finance a 400-bed hospital in the department of San Salvador and another 100-bed facility in the northern zone of the same department.
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved a loan of $170 million to strengthen El Salvador's hospital network. One of the projects to be developed with IDB funds is the construction, equipping and commissioning a 400-bed hospital, which will provide nationwide coverage.
