In 2018, Central American countries allocated $310 million to the purchase of electrical transformers, and 45% was imported by companies in Panama and Costa Rica.

In the first nine months of 2018, Central America imported $101 million in washing machines and their parts, and purchases from Thailand grew 8% compared to the same period in 2017.
