In recent years, washing machines of Mexican origin have become more important in terms of the amount purchased, since from January to September 2012 they accounted for 15% of total regional imports and for the same period in 2020 the proportion rose to 26%.

From January to June 2020, companies in Central American countries imported $12 million worth of microwave ovens, and 83% of total purchases were made from companies in China and Malaysia.

From January to March 2020, Central American companies imported $99 million in refrigerators and freezers, 4% more than what was reported for the same period in 2019, an increase explained by the behavior of purchases from Guatemala, El Salvador and Costa Rica.

From January to April 2020, Central American companies imported from Mexico $39 million in refrigerators and freezers, 23% more than what was sold during the same period in 2019.

From January to September 2019, companies in the region allocated $44 million to the import of video cameras, 8% less than in the same period in 2018, with Nicaragua and Costa Rica being the markets where purchases decreased the most.

In Central America, it is estimated that Mabe, Panafoto, Elektra Guatemala, El Gallo mas Gallo de Alajuela, GMG Comercial and Corporación de Supermercados Unidos, account for about 16% of total imports of microwave and electric ovens.
A study by the Trade Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData indicates that Distribuidora Electrónica, Whirpool Guatemala and Operadoras de Tiendas S.A., are other companies that have a considerable share in the Central American market for electric ovens.
At the regional level, it is estimated that Mabe Guatemala, Distribuidora Electrónica, GMG Comercial Costa Rica and Mabe de El Salvador accounted for about 23% of total kitchen imports.
A study by CentralAmericaData's Trade Intelligence Unit shows that El Gallo Más Gallo from Alajuela, Whirpool Guatemala and Agencias Way are other companies with a considerable share of the Central American kitchen market.
From January to June 2019, companies in the region allocated $31 million to the import of video cameras, 3% less than the amount reported for the same period in 2018.

In the first quarter of 2019, purchases of electric ovens and grills in the region's countries totaled $20 million, and purchases from companies in Mexico increased 14% over the same period in 2018.
