In recent years refrigerators and freezers from China have gained importance in terms of the amount purchased, as in the first half of 2012 represented 7% of total regional imports and for the same period of 2020 the proportion rose to 28%.

Between July and October 2020, the number of people in Guatemala looking online for options to buy a coffee machine increased by 87%, while the number of Salvadoran consumers looking to buy a vacuum cleaner decreased by 60%.
