Construction has started in Santa Ana of a building measuring 16 thousand square meters which will make up the second stage of Metrocentro, which will be ready in March 2017.
The second stage of the mall by Grupo Roble will have 75 new stores, distributed in 10,200 of the 16,000 total square meters comprising the new area.The works started on June 29 and will be developed over the next 15 months.
The Hasgar Group has announced the construction of a commercial center measuring 10 thousand square meters and containing 50 stores, in the municipality of Santa Tecla.
The building will have 257 parking spaces. The opening of the shopping complex is planned for November.
Edgar Hasbún president of Hasgar Group told Elsalvador.com "... 'Hasgar's investment alone in the construction of the building, is about 15 to 16 million, tenants will make their own investments to adapt the spaces to their own tastes.'"
Malls, residential projects, sewage works and power plants are part of the list of environmental impact studies presented in February in Panama.
The report "Construction Projects in Panama - February 2015", prepared by the Business Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData.COM, provides a list of major construction projects which in the month of January presented environmental impact studies (EIS) to the National Environmental Authority (ANAM).
Grupo Roble has announced it will build a shopping mall, of the Multiplaza brand, connected to a Marriott hotel, near the highway to El Salvador.
It is expected that by 2016 the first Multiplaza will be built in Guatemala operating in an area of high value, on the highway to El Salvador. The mall will feature terraces connected to a Marriott Hotel and a mix of shops, restaurants, entertainment and services.
Grupo Roble has begun the expansion of the Multiplaza shopping centers in Antiguo Cuscatlan and remodeling in Metrocentro in Santa Ana and San Salvador.
"For Multiplaza, which has 250 stores, new stores will open such as Victoria's Secret, Nike Store, Gap, La Senza, Banana Republic, Aldo, CAT, and Converse, among others, explained Alberto Poma, CEO of Grupo Roble.
The Mayor of San Salvador has put out for tender the design of construction plans and the development of the first stage of the "Libertad" municipal business center
The project is located in the historic center of San Salvador, between 4th and 6th South Avenue and 4th and 6th East Street, where the " Plaza de los Relojeros" (Watchmaker’s Square) is currently situated, with about 800 watch repair and sale stalls in a 6500 m2 area.
The company announced construction projects in Costa Rica, Panama and El Salvador.
In Zona Rosa, San Benito, at the Salvadoran capital, plans are to build a complex which includes a 16 floor Holiday Inn Hotel and a 4 thousand square meter commercial and office area, announced Roberto Murray Meza, President of Agrisal.
"In Panama, plans are to build a Holiday Inn in early 2011 so to be ready by mid-2012.
The group is developing a multi-use project in the Rosa region of El Salvador's capital, San Salvador.
The project is currently in its preliminary stages and comprises the construction of a hotel, mall and office complex.
Roberto Simán, Agrisal group's executive vicepresident, indicated that they do not yet have a fixed date for work to begin.
"The new development comes off the back of the Plaza Mundo expansion in El Salvador to be inaugurated on 19 October as well as the Holiday Inn soon to be opened in Costa Rica in Escazú, one of the country's fastest growing regions," reports Laprensagrafica.com.
The capital’s municipality and local businessmen are fostering the construction of a new bus station that will have a commercial center and apartments.
The project would be developed at San Salvador Historical Center and could be financed by the European Union. The construction will be settled down in a three block property and will have 135 thousand square meters underground.
Salvadoran shopping malls are incorporating companies whose activities assure large number of visitors.
Transactel is almost ready to open a call center at Shopping Mall Plaza Merliot, and the mall is preparing by tailoring its stores to serve a younger audience.
“We have met with store owners, and they agreed to adapt to some of the requirements of these consumers, which are mostly young individuals”, assured Marcela Velasco, marketing manager at Plaza Merliot.
Developer Grupo Simán will present Almacenes Simán with its completed stores at Shopping Mall Plaza Mundo.
Almacenes Simán will occupy 8.500 square meters, or 50% of the fourth phase of the mall, which is located in the municipality of Soyapango.
“Plaza Mundo’s fourth phase adds 18.000 square meters to the mall, which will then feature a total 56.000 square meters, becoming the country’s second largest shopping mall”, reported Elsalvador.com.
Renovation of Multiplaza in Honduras, development of Metromall in Panama and entry in the colombian market, are some of the bets for 2009.
Alberto Poma Kriete, General Manager from the company, informed to Elsalvador.com: "'In corporate centers, as part of our projects, we have over 100.000 square meters and presence in El Salvador, Costa Rica, and by the end the year we will be present in Colombia', assured Poma Kriete, who was speaking on "Investment in Commercial Centers, Residential and Touristic projects".
The Department of Tourism inaugurated the IV phase of the tourist complex, “Puerto de La Libertad.”
Elsalvador.com publishes in its website: "For this part of the project, $2 million was invested. To date, the government has invested $8 million. It is foreseen that the complete Tourist Complex will surpass an investment of $10 million. According to the project manager of Mitur, Guillermo Cartagena, each location has room capacity for 150 people.".
