In June, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.65%, placing inflation accumulated so far this year at 2.27%.
The Central Bank of Honduras reports that in June 2016, theConsumerPrice Index(CPI) observed a monthly variation of 0.65%, mainly due to increases in electricity rates, food and fuel; a result which is higher than that of the same month last year (0.56%). With this result, the annual variation stood at 2.45% and cumulative inflation at 2.27%.
In May the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.34%, placing inflation accumulated so far this year at 1.61%.

This variation is lower than in the same month in 2015 (0.42%).Meanwhile, interannual variation was 2.36%; and accumulated inflation stood at 1.61%; highlighting the downward trend seen in inflation in the last four months.Of the 282 goods and services included in the consumer basket that make up the CPI, 48.94% showed rising prices, 12.05% fell and the remaining 39.01% were unchanged during the month under analysis.The category that contributed the most to monthly inflation was "Food and non-alcoholic beverages" with 0.13 percentage points (pp); followed by "Transport" with 0.08 pp, "Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels" with 0.05 pp and "Clothing and footwear" with 0.03 pp; contributing 85.29% of total inflation together.
In March the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.21% compared to February, placing accumulated inflation at 1.26%.

In April 2016, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) denoted a monthly growth of 0.21%, mainly associated with the increase in the prices of fuel and health services. This result was lower than the increase recorded in April 2015 (0.25%). Meanwhile, annual inflation stood at 2.44% and cumulative inflation at 1.26%.
In March the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.24% compared to February, placing accumulated inflation at 1.05%.
In March 2016, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a monthly variation of 0.24%, due to an increase in the prices of food prepared outside the home and fuel. This rate was lower by 0.44 percentage points (pp) to that observed in the same month last year. Meanwhile, accumulated inflation was 1.05% and yoy 2.48% .
In February, the consumer price index registered a variation of 0.49% compared to January, placing accumulated inflation at 0.80%.
In February 2016, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) recorded a monthly variation of 0.49%, influenced by an increase in the cost of tuition at different levels of private education (formal and informal) and because of the higher price of food such as corn, onion and tomato. Annual inflation stood at 2.92% and cumulativeinflation at 0.80%.
In January, the consumer price index changed by 0.31% compared to December, keeping inflation at 3.08%.
In the first month of 2016 the Consumer Price Index (CPI) showed a monthly variation of 0.31%, mainly due to the rise in the price of basic grains (red beans, corn and rice) and meat (beef, pork, chicken and fish). Meanwhile, annual inflation stood at 3.08% (3.83% in January 2015).
In December, the consumer price index remained unchanged from November, with inflation remaining at 2.36%.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December 2015 showed no variation compared to November. Annual inflation was 2.36%, lower than the amount recorded in the same month of 2014 (5.82%).
In November, the consumer price index recorded a variation of -0.07%, placing accumulated inflation in the year to 2.36%.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) registered a monthly decrease of 0.07% in November 2015, mainly due to lower prices of red beans, shelled corn and fuels (diesel and petrol super and regular). Meanwhile, annual inflation was 2.10% (the lowest since October 1987, when it registered 1.44%), remaining below the lower limit of the target range envisaged in the monetary program; accumulated inflation was 2.36%.
Furniture and items for household maintenance, and clothing and footwear were the divisions that accounted the most for the monthly increase of 0.25% seen in the price index in April.
