El Salvador: Seeds for $25 Million

The government has announced the purchase of agricultural packages containing basic grains to be distributed among 400,000 subsistence farmers.
From a statement issued by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAG):
The Minister of Agriculture, Orestes Ortez, announced that the government will soon start buying maize and bean seeds that are to be delivered as part of agricultural parcels, a program of vital importance in ensuring food security for Salvadoran families.

The Department of Administrative Security in Guatemala is putting out to tender the acquisition of basic grains, sugar, rice and flour for the institution’s kitchens.
The requirements are for 9456 pounds of black beans in bulk, 25,680 lbs of parboiled rice, 26,532 pounds of corn flour and 38,400 lbs of fortified white sugar.
"This products will be bought from a single buyer and is for the use of the kitchens serving the Ministry of Administrative Affairs and Security of the Presidency", writes Manuel Hernandez on PrensaLibre.com.
