In March the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.21% compared to February, placing accumulated inflation at 1.26%.

In April 2016, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) denoted a monthly growth of 0.21%, mainly associated with the increase in the prices of fuel and health services. This result was lower than the increase recorded in April 2015 (0.25%).
In April, the consumer price index registered a variation of 0.17%, accumulating inflation in the first three months of the year of 1.50%.

The monthly variation of 0.17% in April 2016, shows a slowdown compared to April 2015 (0.34%), while cumulative and annual variation recorded an acceleration in price levels.
In December, the CPI registered a variation of 0.98%, accumulating inflation of 3.05% throughout the year, well below the 6.48% recorded in the same period in 2014.
The Central Bank reported that the monthly inflation in December was 0.98% (-0.07% in December 2014). This increase was driven mainly by higher prices in the divisions of food and nonalcoholic beverages (1.20%), recreation and culture (5.77%) and; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (2.24%), with a joint contribution of 0.844 percentage points to the observed variation.
In May prices rose by 0.22%, resulting in a cumulative annual inflation of 3.22%.
The Institute of Statistics of Guatemala reports that "...The Consumer Price Index for May 2014 stood at 115.94, registering a monthly variation of 0.22%, compared to May last year when the variation was 3.22%. "
"... The most important results for May 2014 were as follows: a one month rate of 0.22% YoY rate of 3.22%, and accumulated rate 1.10% were recorded.
In May the consumer price index rose by 0.53%, with food and non-alcoholic beverages, cigarettes, alcoholic beverages and various service groups having the largest increases.

In March the consumer price index rose by 0.4% from February, with the Health, Transport and Food and Beverage segments increasing the most.

The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in March compared to February 2014 showed an increase of 0.4 percent in the National Urban area, 0.3 percent for the districts of Panama and San Miguelito and 0.6 percent in the Other Urban areas.
In February prices increased by 0.20%, driven by the food, goods and services and housing sectors.

Between January and December 2013, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) registered a variation of 3.68 %. The consumer goods groups that influenced the cumulative change the most were communications, food and beverages, education and residential properties.
The result was determined by the behavior of prices in the divisions of food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water, electricity and others.

The Central Bank of Nicaragua informed the Nicaraguan people that the national inflation accumulated to December 2013 was 5.54% (6.62% in December 2012).
Food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing, water and electricity were the sectors that contributed most to the rise in the price index.

In December 2013, the monthly variation in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 0.30% (0.12% in December 2012). Meanwhile, annual inflation was 4.92% and the average for the year was 5.18%.
The cumulative variation of the Index for the ten months of the year is 2.98%, less than the variation in the same period of the previous year which was 3.42%.
