For the end of 2019, is scheduled the inauguration of Oceana Resort, a hotel complex that will offer 200 rooms and is located on the beach of Iztapa, department of Escuintla.
Oceana Resort + Conventions will be a hotel that will have a total of 22 thousand square meters of construction and will operate under the format of "all-inclusive". The building is located at kilometer 6 of the road from Iztapa to Monterrico.
A new 106-room hotel complex was inaugurated in the department of Retalhuleu, with the capacity to accommodate 440 guests.
The new resort, called "Hostal Aldea de la Selva" was built by the Institute for Recreation of Workers of Private Enterprise of Guatemala (IRTRA) on a 50,000 square meter property.
After Selina opened its first establishment in Antigua, Guatemala, the international chain announced that next year plans to open five new hotels in different parts of the country.
The chain's representatives informed that for the opening of the new hotels, which will be in the departments of Solola, Escuintla, Guatemala, Alta Verapaz and Peten, an investment of approximately $6 million will be made.
With 76 beds, a restaurant and 146 parking spaces, the hotel Suites Terraza Imperial has opened in zone 13 of the Guatemalan capital.
The hotel is being promoted as an ideal establishment for business travelers and for those who visit the capital of Guatemala for medical treatments.

Hotel renovations and the opening of new establishments are planned next year in Guatemala, in a market where the occupancy rate is around 60%.
Despite the fact that the occupancy rate has not exceeded 60% in the last two years, growth of the hotel market in Guatemala continues, especially in the metropolitan area.In this location, the areas of greatest demand continue to be those near the road to El Salvador, Cayalá and the sector near La Reforma Avenue.
As well as the recent opening of a hotel by the Marriott chain and another one by Multi-Inversiones, three more establishments will be added in the capital in the coming months.
After a few years of relative calm, the hotel market in Guatemala is starting to recover with the opening of new stores, some by brands already present in the country and some by new ones.
The US budget accommodation group G6 Hospitality has announced that within five years it will build ten hotels in Belize, Costa Rica and Panama.

New buildings, the arrival of new brands, remodeling and expansion of facilities, are part of the changes in the hotel sector in the Guatemalan capital.
Most of the brand names that announced plans to expand their facilities or open new stores are focused on hotels for business travelers and convention tourism. La Quinta Inns & Suites is one of the hotels which announced its opening in Zone 10 this year, while the Marriott brand announced its alliance with Grupo Azur to open a franchise of this hotel in Zone 10.
The hotel chain has announced that it will open in 2016, a 147-room Courtyard hotel in zone 10 in Guatemala City.

The industry is looking to regain ground in the country with the expansion of four chains of hotels by the end of 2016.
La Quinta Inns & Suites, Hyatt, Four Seasons and Marriott hotels are to be added to the supply in the Guatemalan market. Zone 10, Quetzaltenango and Antigua are some of the locations that will host these projects.

The American chain La Quinta Inn has announced that in 2015 it will begin construction of three hotels in Managua, Guatemala City and Quetzaltenango.

In a partnership with Central American businessmen five Park Hyatt hotels will be built in the capitals of Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador and two in Honduras.

The hotel chain La Quinta has announced an agreement with the Honduran Grupo Santos to open eight hotels in the region, starting with an establishment in Tegucigalpa, to open in 2014.
San Pedro Sula, Comayagua, Choluteca, and Roatan are other Honduran cities where La Quinta plans to have hotels.
The capital of Nicaragua, Panama and Guatemala are also on the list of cities which will have establishments belonging to the U.S. network.
