The Costa Rican Social Security Fund has received five offers for the design, construction and equipment of the Víctor Sanabria Hospital, which will be located in Puntarenas.

The Costa Rican Social Security Department plans to launch a tender in the second half of the year for the construction and equipping of a hospital in the province of Cartago, estimated at $136 million.
Authorities from the Costa Rican Social Security Department (CCSS) announced that funding for this work will come from "... a special fund of $56 million in the budget this year, which aims to assemble a baseline of funding for projects such as this medical center. "
The government has announced plans to build a hospital in Turrialba, located 6 kilometers away from the one existing, with an estimated investment of $78 million.

The new center, with an investment of $78 million, will have more diagnostic and surgical capacity; and more specialties.
An environmental impact study has been submitted for the construction and equipping of a new site for the health department in Naranjo, Alajuela province.
The environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the project was presented in June by the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat.
The work which the CCSS intends to carry out consists of the construction and equipping of a new site for the health department in Naranjo. The building will have three levels, and will include comprehensive services of dentistry, emergency, management and others. The net area of the project is 10,200 square meters.
The Costa Rican Social Security Department has approved funds for the construction of 14 new operating rooms at Hospital Mexico in San José.
Authorities told Crhoy.com that "... 25 months have been estimated for the implementation of the entire project, a time frame which includes a planning, design and procurement stage (11 months) and an implementation phase of approximately 14 months "
