The government has announced that over the next six months it will start the tender process for the design and construction of the bridge connecting the northern corridor.

The Government of the Republic of Panama will be starting, in six months time, the tender process to build the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal, stated the President, Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez.
President Varela has announced that in the coming days publication will be made of the conditions of the tender to expand to eight lanes Via Arraiján to the Bridge of the Americas.
The Panamanian government announced that in the coming days it will publish on the website for state purchases, the specifications of the tender process for the extension to eight lanes of Via Arraiján to the Bridge of the Americas.
It has been announced that the $8.4 million contract signed with Serdelco SA for the design and construction of the bridge between Chalatenango and La Libertad will be canceled and the works will be re-tendered.
It is expected that in February there will be an announced about the tender mechanism to be used to continue the project, in which so far on the desing phase has been finished. The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) works is currently in the process of cancelling the contract so that the the process for building the bridge can then start.
The Ministry of Public Works has announced that in the first half of the year it will be putting out tenders for the construction of a road, a retaining wall in Bocas del Toro and expansion of roads in the capital.

The Ministry of Public Works in Panama has announced tenders for four sections: Agua Fria-Santa Fe, Santa Fe-Metetí, Metetí-Canglón and Canglón-Yaviza.
Renovations, reconstruction of drainage works, road redesign, installation of lighting and traffic signals are part of the work is the tender to be realised in the coming months.
The first works include maintenance for the section between Plaza Agora in Pueblo Nuevo, and the district of Los Andes in Omar Torrijos and represent an investment of $15 million. It is estimated that the repairs will take six months and bidding will take place during the course of this week.

Preparations are being made for the release of tender specification at the beginning of 2015 for the expansion to four lanes of a highway 9 kilometers north of the capital, in Las Cumbres.
The road which reduces the distance between the north and east of the capital needs to have its existing structure renovated as well as construction of two additional lanes to improve the flow of the 800 vehicles which pass along it during peak traffic hours.
