The Ministry of Communications of Guatemala tenders the technical, administrative and environmental supervision of road construction in different parts of the country.

During the first semester of 2018, 36 environmental impact studies were presented for projects of street renovation and construction of highways and bridges in the countries of the region.

The construction will conform to the existing sub-floor and the following pavement structure: stabilized sub-base (e=0.20m) with Portland cement, crushed base course (e=0.25m), black base course (e=0.10m), and a hot asphalt concrete surface-layer (e=0.06m)."
The contract to restore and manage the Escuintla-Puerto Quetzal highway with toll collection, awarded to the Consorcio Autopistas de Guatemala, is already in the Congress awaiting approval.
The National Council of Alliances for the Development of Economic Infrastructure (Conadie) approved in early August the action of the Evaluation Commission that decided to award the contract for the restoration and administration of the road section to the Consorcio Autopistas de Guatemala.
The Guatemalan government will liquidate the works contract to extend 100 km of the CA2 East highway, which connects the department of Escuintla and the border with El Salvador.

In Guatemala, confirmation has been given of the award of a contract to renovate and manage the Escuintla-Puerto Quetzal highway with tolls, to the Consortium Autopistas de Guatemala.
In a meeting held on August 6, the National Council of Partnerships for the Development of Economic Infrastructure (Conadie), unanimously decided to approve the actions of the Evaluation Commission that decided to award the Consortium Autopistas de Guatemala the contract for the renovation and administration of the road section.
Renovation works on Highway CA-13 are being tendered for the section that includes the stretch from Bifurcation CA-09 N and the border with Honduras, Izabal.

In Guatemala, the Consortium Autopistas de Guatemala was awarded a contract for the renovation and management of the Escuintla-Puerto Quetzal highway, with toll collection.
In this concession for the administration of the highway, the companies which had been pre-qualified and which submitted their proposals were Consorcio Autopistas de Guatemala, Mota-Engil Latin America and Anas International Enterprise.
The proposal by the Autopistas de Guatemala consortium offers the highest percentage of revenues for the government, in the concession to renovate and manage the Escuintla - Puerto Quetzal highway.

Following the disasters caused by the eruptions of the Fuego Volcano in Guatemala, $26 million has been granted to five companies to reconstruct the affected road stretches.
Due to the state of Calamity decreed after the natural disaster, the Ministry of Communications, Infrastructure and Housing (CIV) awarded emergency contracts to five companies that will be in charge of repairing the affected sections of National Route 14.
