The Ministry of Education in Panama is putting out to tender the supply and assembly of school furniture for educational centers in the province of Panama.

Euromobilia, Adisa, Ergomatic and Fursys are four of the companies participating in the tender approval meeting to supply furniture for the waiting rooms in the new airport terminal.
In 2018 Indufoam plans to invest $6 million in robotic equipment to automate production processes at its bed manufacturing plant in Ciudad Arce, El Salvador.
The investment in robotic equipment aims to increase the plant's current productive capacity, which stands at more than 1,500 beds and 3,000 accessories per day.The investment also includes increasing storage capacity.
From September 21 to 22, 2018, furniture manufacturers and distributors from the region will be gathering together in Panama City, to take part in business conferences and showcase their products.

Panama, November 29, 2017.In order to position the Panamanian furniture industry in the region, the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama (CCIAP) and the National Association of Furniture and Credit Institutions (ANaMIC) is organizing the second version of EXPO MUEBLE: Home and Office, to be held from September 21 to 22 2018 at the ATLAPA Convention Center.
In 2016 imports of home and office furniture in Panama totaled $127 million, and the value imported from Brazil grew by 4% compared to 2015.

In 2016, 965 thousand cubic meters of roundwood were processed, 77% of which came from forest plantations, 17% from land and agriculture use, and 5% from forests.

As part of the results of this report, the primary wood processing industry, including stationary and portable units, is estimated to have processed 965,602 cubic meters of roundwood (m3-r).Of this volume, 745,267 m3-r (77.2%) came from forest plantations, 171,017 m3-r from land for agricultural use (17.7%) and 49,318 m3-r from forests (5.1%).Based on the above information, an increase of 0.9% is confirmed compared to the volume of logs reported in 2015.
In 2016 imports of home and office furniture in Central American countries totaled $402 million, and the value imported from China grew by 4% compared to 2015.

A call is being made to manufacturers and distributors of furniture in the region to take part in a business conference that will be developed within the framework of ExpoMueble 2017, from July 11 to 16 in Guatemala City.

Last year imports of sawn timber grew by 34% compared to 2015, while wood furniture exports and imports increased by only 3.4% and 2.6%, respectively.

Exports of raw timber were similar to those of the previous year, as 52% ($21.6 million) of the amount exported in 2016 corresponded to log pieces, the rest was reported as sawn lumber, ie $19, 9 million.
Between January and September 2016 the Central American countries as a whole imported a monthly average of $32 million worth of furniture for offices and homes.
