Companies participating in the SIAL show in Paris made purchase offer deals worth more than $1 million and generated new markets in Europe and South America for products such as chia, crackers and organic cocoa.
The event was attended by a delegation of 12 member from companies in the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN), and succeeded in opening new markets for non-traditional products and increase their knowledge of the European market for future business deals.
The country is looking for suppliers of agricultural and food products to participate in the Foodex trade fair on March 3rd - 6th, 2015.
Representatives from Jethro, an autonomous agency of the Government of Japan are promoting in the region the Foodex 2015 international food fair, where business meetings will be conducted between food providers in different areas of the world and Japanese buyers.
At the fair held last September $4 million more was made in sales than the previous year when the amount was $37.4 million.
The fair included more than 250 exhibitors and 80 international buyers. In addition a conference was held on marketing and business which included 700 business meetings with over 100 world-class buyers.

The Mexicans Grupo Desamex, Grupo Dapsa y Tía Mónica have confirmed their attendance at the international fair of producers and exporters in Nicaragua.
These and other groups of Mexican companies have shown interest in fresh, organic and processed products in Nicaragua. The event will be held on 27 and 28 September in the Crown Plaza Hotel in Managua.
A Nicaraguan delegation of businessmen who traveled to Taiwan for the Fair Food Taipei 2012 in June, did not come home empty-handed.
Seven companies producing coffee, cocoa, sweet brown sugar and waffers managed to strike deals.
