The Legislature has approved a special budget for road renovation works, road widening, construction of overpasses and breakwater at berths.

With 44 votes in favor lawmakers approved on its second reading record 19464, modification No. 9289, Act RB extraordinary Republic Act for fiscal year 2015 and the first special budget of the Republic for the fiscal year 2015.

For the creation of the trust between the banking entities and the National Roads Council they took into account state banks, pension operators and the National Insurance Institute.

The government has signed a concession agreement with the company Autopistas del Atlántico SA to build a road measuring 105 kilometers with four lanes in the departments of Cortés, Yoro and Atlantis.
The project contract was awarded in concession to the company Autopistas del Atlántico SA, a consortium formed between the Honduran company Prodecon and the business group Grodco from Colombia.

The National Assembly unanimously approved on January 27, a Loan Decree to finance the Road Connectivity Project on the Caribbean coast, which will be implemented by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure.
While the government discusses possible options for funding expansion of the road, the union of engineers and architects aims to develop the project through means of a tender.
The expansion project of the Southern Corridor route is estimated at $509 million and it has still not been defined how the funds needed to carry out the work will be raised.
Progress is being made for the approval of a bill to authorize the use of 40% of the Pension and Retirement Funds of the Magisterium, equivalent to $1,492 million, to finance public works projects.

The government has announced that it will be obtaining a loan from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration to rebuild 97 miles of roads and trails that connect with the Caribbean.

A loan has been approved by the Inter-American Development Bank and the Fund for Chinese Cofinancing to repair roads and build bridges in different parts of the country and carry out port works in the Pacific.

The government of President Juan Orlando Hernández was a witness of honor on Tuesday to the signing of the Credit Agreement for the Logistics Corridor which will connect the Pacific and the Atlantic oceans, as one of the areas of development for the country and which has as its primary objective to be considered as an important alternative to the Panama Canal.
The Minister of Public Works and Transport is asking for an amendment to the existing legislation to allow a common trust to be structured to finance all road infrastructure works.
The minister of transport and public works intends for the bill being studied in the assembly, and which would fund the road from San Ramon to San Jose through the figure of trust, to be extended to all types of road works and not only that road, so that a single financing option would be used for the construction of all roads in the future.
Using funding from the International Cooperation Agency of Japan 14.5 km of a four lane road will be built north of the city of San Miguel.
The funds will be granted to the government of El Salvador in the form of a loan, and will be used in the construction of the road project, on the northern outskirts of the city of San Miguel, whose "area of influence will include all of the metropolitan area of this city in the east of the country."
The loan signed by the previous government is tied to a contract for the construction of 105 kilometers of road which was pre awarded to China's CHEC.
An article in Nacion.com reports that "... The government of Luis Guillermo Solís reported today that China will make a formal request to renegotiate the loan to expand Route 32, which was signed during the administration of Laura Chinchilla."
