The export manufacturing industry is a highly dynamic and innovative sector and every year implements new strategies and business models to potentiate its exports, which represent 30% of Guatemala's total exports and which generate about 200 thousand jobs. One of the goals set for this year, 2016, is to surpass by 6% the $3.585 million already exported, according to the Bank of Guatemala, from January to November 2015.
Although only a few Costa Rican companies take part in trade shows worldwide, those that have done so generally obtaing good results.
During 2014 more than 50 exporting companies in Costa Rica took part in international trade fairs in order to meet potential customers, promote their business and strike deals to increase their shipments abroad. As a result of participation in some of these international fairs, agricultural products such as taro, ginger, squash, sweet potato, among others, will start be sold in the US soon.
AGRITRADE Expo & Conference will take place on March 12th-13th in Guatemala City, and will be attended by 100 international buyers.

In order to bring together in one place offerings of Central American agricultural exports, the AGRITRADE Expo & Conference from AGEXPORT, sold at its breakfast launch 50% of the show's floor, an event which will be held in 2015, in Santo Domingo Hill, Antigua Guatemala and will bring to the country more than 100 international buyers interested in coffee, cardamom, macadamia, broccoli, organic products, pepper, from Guatemala and Central America.
More than 500 companies from 30 countries are taking part in the most important international trade show in the region.

On April 14 and 15, a hundred foreign investors and 74 companies will participate in the first Costa Rican Costa Rica Investment World.
Electronics, services, industrial goods such as metalworking, green technologies and research are some of the sectors that will participate in the event.
The purpose of the activity is to promote Costa Rica as an emerging market for high value-added investment and bring the whole supply chain in one single place, explained Emmanuel Hess, Foreign Trade Promoter (Procomer) manager.
