Gas Natural Fenosa is putting out to tender civil works for underground cabling in the banking district of Panama City.
According to an article in Prensa.com, the Distribution Manager of Gas Natural FenosaPanama, Sebastian Perez, said that "11 companies have pre-qualified and will therefore be eligible to compete for the civil works, which have an estimated investment value of $26 million. The submission of proposals is scheduled for October 19. The other part of the work, electrical, will be contracted out later. "
The first works will cover the banking sector of Panama City and will cost $ 33 million.
Once the Authority of Public Services (ASEP) has approved the tender conditions, bids will be invited from national and international companies for the tender to lay underground cables in the first stage comprising of the banking area.
The project will cost $40 million and will be tendered after approval of a law which establishes the rate to be paid by the users of the involved communications services.
Bill 423 states that users of fixed and mobile telephony, pay view television and internet services will have to pay between 1% and 2% in their monthly bills once the investment plan starts, reported Prensa.com.
The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad has put out to tender the acquisition of cable and materials for the reconstruction of a transmission line.
According to the specifications, the tender is for "Cable and materials for the reconstruction of the transmission line Trapiche –Leesville."
A new rate will be charged to customers of telecommunications services, which will pay for underground wiring works.
The bill approved by the Council of Ministers, which will be presented to the National Assembly, would create a law to establish the rate to be paid by users of telecommunication services (telephone, cable television and internet).
