The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic reported that the consumer price index (CPI) in September 2018 registered a variation of 0.08 % with respect to August, the accumulated inflation for the January-September 2018 period reached 1.52 %, while annualized inflation, measured from September 2017 to September 2018, was 3.29 %.
After the Consumer Price Index reported interannual variations of 2.6% and 3.3% in July and August, in September the inflationary rhythm increased to 4.6%.

The consumer price index registered a slight monthly variation of 0.03%, due to the increase in the prices of housing rent and some personal care items.

The consumer price index recorded a monthly variation of 0.22% in the ninth month of the year, mostly explained by the positive effect of transport and clothing and footwear prices.

After reaching the highest level this year with 5.6% in June, the price index reported a variation of 5.2% in August compared to the same month in 2017.

The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) reported that accumulated inflation during the period January-July 2018 was 1.41%. This result is due to the fact that inflation in July 2018 remained practically neutral, with a variation of the CPI of -0.02% with respect to the previous month.
In July, the CPI recorded a monthly variation of 0.28%, mainly explained by the prices recorded in the Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Entertainment and culture sectors.

In June, the consumer price indexes in all of the countries in the Central American region recorded year-on-year increases in the transport spending division.
According to a report from the Central American Monetary Council, in June of this year, Nicaragua was the country that reported the highest year-on-year increase in the price level of transportation services, registering an increase of 9.8% compared to the same month in 2018.
In the sixth month of the year there was a monthly change of 0.21% in the CPI, explained by prices of Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Transport.

The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) reports that the consumer price index (CPI) for the month of June 2018 registered a variation of 0.21% with respect to the month of May of this same year, reaching cumulative inflation 1.43% for the first semester.
In the first sixth months of the year, the CPI recorded a monthly variation of 0.57%, mainly explained by the behavior prices of Food and Health products.
