In December, the consumer price index remained unchanged from November, with inflation remaining at 2.36%.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in December 2015 showed no variation compared to November. Annual inflation was 2.36%, lower than the amount recorded in the same month of 2014 (5.82%).

During the month, in the basket of 282 goods and services that form the basis of the CPI calculation; 138 products reflected price increases (48.94%) 34 saw price decreases (12.05%), with the goods and services with the highest weighting in the index being food (corn, red beans and some dairy), electricity and fuels. The rest, totaling 110 products, maintained their price (39.01%).
In November, the consumer price index recorded a variation of -0.07%, placing accumulated inflation in the year to 2.36%.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) registered a monthly decrease of 0.07% in November 2015, mainly due to lower prices of red beans, shelled corn and fuels (diesel and petrol super and regular). Meanwhile, annual inflation was 2.10% (the lowest since October 1987, when it registered 1.44%), remaining below the lower limit of the target range envisaged in the monetary program; accumulated inflation was 2.36%.
In November, the CPI registered a variation of 0.36%, accumulating so far this year inflation of 2.06%, well below the 6.55% recorded in the same period in 2014.

November monthly inflation was 0.36% (1.39% in December 2014). This inflation was mainly determined by the increase in prices in the divisions of food and non-alcoholic beverages (0.38%), restaurants and hotels (0.55%) and; housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (0.37%), with a joint contribution of 0.228 percentage points to the observed variation.
In November, the consumer price index recorded a rise of 0.47%, accumulating between January and November inflation of 2.63%.
The monthly change (0.47%) registered an acceleration compared to November 2014 (0.19%), while the accumulated (2.63%) and annual (2.51%) variations, recorded a slowdown in the price level compared to what was observed in November 2014.
In November, the consumer price index recorded a decrease of 0.01%, placing the annual inflation at -1.20% and inflation accumulated so far this year at -0.99%.
The groups with the greatest contribution to the change in the consumer price index (CPI) in November 2015 are Food and non-alcoholic beverages and Transport, as reported by the National Institute of Statistics and Census.
In September the consumer price index recorded a decrease of 0.26%, placing inter annual inflation at -0.86% and accumulated inflation at -0.70% so far this year.
In September 2015, of the 315 goods and services included in the consumer basket, 47% saw price increases, 42% fell in price and 11% did not change.
When analyzing the percentage changes of the twelve groups that make up the index, it can been seen that the transport group is having a major negative effect on the index's variation in general.
In March the consumer price index showed a variation of 0.38%, mainly due to the increase in prices of Transportation, Recreation and culture and restaurants and hotels.

March's monthly inflation stood at 0.38% (-0.01% in December 2014), mainly determined by price increases in the divisions of transport (2.12%); recreation and culture (2.26%); and restaurants and hotels (0.70%), which together contributed 0.310% to the observed variation. In contrast, the division of food and non-alcoholic beverages showed the opposite behavior with -0.38% (-0.140 pp).
In December 2014, the consumer price index recorded a monthly decline of 0.25%, closing the year at 5.82%, above the rate of 4.92% recorded in 2013.

As of December 2014, the interannual variation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 5.82%. In December the price level fell by 0.25% compared to the previous month, as a result of a decrease in the price of red beans, given the increased supply in the productive season, and the drop in the price of fuels national wide.
In November, the consumer price index rose by 0.36%, placing the accumulated inflation in the year at 6.08%.

Monthly inflation, as measured by the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was 0.36% in November 2014; with annual inflation reaching rate of 6.41% and cumulative inflation 6.08% .
In assessing the goods and services that make up the CPI basket, 8.16% of them showed a decrease in price, 58.86% increased; while 32.98% remained the same.
